He was the cherished son of the late Staley G. and Lona Gaye Hauger Reckart. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved son, Roger Reckart; his sisters, Glendine Savage and Rosalie Lawson; and his brother, Dallas Reckart.
Wayne is survived by his devoted wife, Thelma Reckart, and his loving daughter-in-law, Deborah Reckart. He was a proud grandfather to Jeffery Reckart (Ruta) and Angalena Little (Allen Jr.); a great-grandfather to Daniel Minikhanov, Iris Hoye, Conner Little, Lee Johnson IV, Kylie Little, and Nathan Reckart; and a great-great-grandfather to Matteo Gutierrez.
A retired coal miner, Wayne also found deep purpose in farming. He was a humble guitarist, a spirited dancer, and a man who loved the outdoors—especially when camping, hunting, or fishing with his family. Known for his compassion and easy-going nature, Wayne made everyone feel welcome and valued.
He treasured his family above all, and his legacy is one of generosity, resilience, and joy. Wayne will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him.
