Ward Ray Schnopp, 78, passed away at his home in Hazelton, WV surrounded by his family on Saturday April 8, 2023. A son of the late E. Ray and Bertha Ellen Rodeheaver Schnopp, he was born on October 13, 1944, in Hazelton, WV. He is a veteran of the US Army, serving as a helicopter mechanic and a clerk. A quiet and soft-spoken man, Ward was an avid reader, a carpenter and woodworker, and a lifelong farmer. He was good at everything he did and retired in 2010 from the United States Post Office as a rural carrier. Ward is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Georgeanna Wireman Schnopp; his three children: Michael Ward Schnopp and wife Lisa, Brian Todd Schnopp, and Wendy Rae Livengood and husband Bill; his four grandchildren: Heidi Moran and husband Greg, Katie Henk and husband Tyler, Lindsay Wilson and husband Brandon, and Levi Schnopp; and his five great grandchildren: Owen and Mason Moran, Coen and Mali Wilson, and Lakelyn Cramer. Also surviving are his siblings: Ellen Close, Jean Schnopp, Edward Schnopp and wife Karen, and Linda Cuppett and husband Cliff. Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 3-7 p.m., and Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service with Pastor Steve Wotring officiating.
