Steven Junior Simpkins, Steven Junior Simpkins, 76, of Morgantown (formerly of Pisgah community) WV, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at his home on Stewartstown Road. The son of the late Frank and Ruby Amie Simpkins, he was born July 17, 1944, in Morgantown. Steven was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed camping, hunting and all outdoor activities. He is survived by his wife, Joan A. Burns Simpkins; a son, Stevie Simpkins, of Illinois; several step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two sisters: Stella Forman and her husband, Ray, of Bruceton Mills, and Millie Gibson and her companion, Lloyd Wiles, of Morgantown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ester Mae Simpkins, and a brother, William Simpkins. Family and friends may attend the graveside memorial service at the Fairview Cemetery in Pisgah (Bruceton Mills), WV, Saturday, August 1, 2020, from 11:30 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service, with Hospice Chaplin Wendy Browne officiating. Military graveside honors will be accorded by the Preston County VFW Posts and the Vietnam Veterans of America and WVANG Military Funeral Honors, Camp Dawson.
