Shirley Marie (Rodeheaver) Friend,

91, of Bruceton Mills (Mt. Dale Community) WV, passed from this life, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. She is now at peace, united with her husband, Samuel Wm. Friend.

Shirley was born at her parent's home on January 12, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Marie (Parnell) Rodeheaver.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Don (Delores) Rodeheaver, Dale Rodeheaver, and her sister, Mary Jane Harrison, as well as a grandchild, Matthew Allan Friend.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Steven R. Friend and wife Tracy of Weatherford, TX. and Stanton R. Friend of Bruceton Mills and his former spouse, Kimberly Pifer from Cumberland, MD. Included are Shirley's grandchildren, Samuel E. Friend and his partner Krista Tenney of Anderson, SC and Christopher J. Friend of Bruceton Mills, WV. Shirley was blessed with two great grandchildren, Elizabeth Renee Friend and Cayden James Friend. In addition, surviving is her brother-In-law, Jerry Lee Friend and wife Patty, from Friendsville, MD and sisters-in-law, Louise (Dale) Rodeheaver from Chesapeake, VA, Erma (Friend) Wholer, of Altoona, PA, and Janet (Friend) Brady, of Palm Bay, FL. Including numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley attended Mt. Dale Church of the Brethren, where she was a choir leader and Sunday School teacher. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, and bird watching.

Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. until the 1:00 P.M. service, with Pastor Butch Morsberger officiating.

Burial will follow at Blooming Rose Cemetery, Friendsville, MD.
