Sheldon Ray Savage,
69, of Bruceton Mills, WV, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at home with his loving family by his side.
The son of the late Foster Ivan and Macie Mae Frazee Savage, Jr., he was born January 9, 1947, in Confluence, PA.
He was a coal miner and retired from Arkwright and Loveridge Coal Companies. He was also a farmer, cut timber and a truck driver. He did not find fault with anyone. He was a loving husband and father and especially loved his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Lou Nicholson Savage; a daughter, Kimberly Burnworth; a son and spouse, Sheldon R. and Colleen Savage; thirteen siblings: Naomi Ford, Melvin Savage, Shirley Cramer, Mary Ann Frazee, Foster Savage, Jr., Joyce Spiker, Olivia Wolverton, Oliver, Timothy, David, Frances, John and Tammy Savage; four grandchildren: Eddie Ray Burnworth and David James Austin and Curtis and Savannah Savage; a great-granddaughter, Saige Marie Burnworth; foster brother-in-laws, Jake and John Valentine and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Ervin Savage, Sr., Ivan Savage, Robert Savage, Gerald Savage and Sheila Seese.
Friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, June 11, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service in the funeral home, with Rev. Barry M. Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Nicholson Heavenly View Cemetery, Bruceton Mills.
