Robert Lee Howdershelt,

88, of Bruceton Mills, WV, passed away at his daughter’s home in Morgantown, WV, on June 26, 2026. He was the son of the late Robert Franklin and Sophia Mae Nestor Howdershelt and was born in Bruceton Mills on October 5, 1937.

Bob graduated from Bruceton High School, became a carpenter and a farmer, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by is wife, Ruth Ann Friend Howdershelt; a son and his wife, Kevin and Donna Howdershelt, of Morgantown, a daughter, Debra Howdershelt, of Morgantown; a grandchild and his wife, Jeffrey and Halee Howdershelt; two greatgrandchildren, Jadalynn and Reiner Howdershelt; four sisters: Jean Groves and her husband, Donald, of Bruceton Mills, Judy Phillips and her husband, Neil, of Dilliner, PA, Darlene Bonievich of New Stanton, PA, and Phyllis Cox of Dilliner, PA.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and William Howdershelt, and an infant sister, Elizabeth.

Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 2:00 until 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service with Hospice Chaplin, Jeremy Cordova, officiating. Burial will follow in the Centenary Cemetery, Bruceton Mills.
