Patty Louise Wolfe

Patty Louise Wolfe,

90, of Albright (Valley Point Community), West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Mon General Hospital, with her family by her side.

Born November 27, 1935, in rural Preston County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Roy B. Pratt and Elmo V. Jones Pratt. Patty was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Morgantown.

A strong and independent woman, Patty taught fourth grade at Bruceton School until her retirement in 1998. Following her retirement, she built the Maple Leaf Motel in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia.

Patty was a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Melvin Gregory Reckart, and his companion, Sue Chipps; her daughter, Shelley Reckart, and her husband, Danny; and her grandchildren, Sherea Savage, Tanya Augustine and her spouse, Donny, Thomas Reckart, Kyleen Reckart, Daniel Jones, Shaquayla Jones, Andrea Middleton, and Cassie Williams and her spouse, Scott. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her son, William “Botch” Reckart; her brothers, Vernon, Joseph, James, and Robert Pratt and Bud Strawser; and her sisters, Martha Bolinger, Bonnie Reed, Ruby Menear, Rosemary Adams, and Betty Stafford.

Friends and family will be received at Carl R. Spear Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., and on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, with Don Augustine officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Parnell Cemetery, at (Pisgah) Bruceton Mills.
