Michael Mon Walls

Michael Mon Walls, of Bruceton Mills, was called home into the arms of Jesus on September 7, 2026. The son of the late Mildred Ester (Myers) Walls and Ernest Mon Walls of Bruceton Mills. Michael was born on May 29, 1950, in Morgantown, WV. He made an incredible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A 1969 graduate of Bruceton High School, his life took a bold turn when he joined the marines after graduation. Michael was a man of many talents developed through the jobs he held and the hobbies he pursued. Michael was employed by WVU, Mon County Senior Center, Lemac Mine Equipment and Petitto’s Mine Equipment and Repair. He loved mowing, photography, woodworking, riding his side by side, and his loyal dog, Herman.

Mike was an active member of the Fairview Cemetery Association at Pisgah and attended Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Morgantown, WV.

Those who knew Mike often recall his engaging personality and the clever T- Shirts he wore, which reflected his humor and zest for life. He was a man who never met a stranger and was always ready to share a story or stories and a laugh.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Amy Kathryn (McKinney) Walls. Together they raised two children, Laura Shannon (Walls) Eddy and husband, Joshua, and Christopher Michael Walls and wife, Holly; and four grandchildren: Natalie, Bryan, Dylan, and Emery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Preston County Animal Shelter, where Michael adopted his best boy, Dan, AKA Herman, or Amedisys of Morgantown, WV., which gave Michael outstanding care during his journey.

Cremation services will be provided by the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV.
