Mark William Rush,
68, of Reading, PA, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025. During his eight days on hospice, he was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on May 21, 1957, in Morgantown, WV, he was the son of Neil and Aleda Rush.
He is survived by his brothers, Jeffrey (husband of Virginia) and Gregory (husband of Meg), as well as his niece, Libby and nephew, Neil.
Mark was a sweet soul with a smile that came easily. He worked at Prospectus Berco and Threshold for many years, earning a reputation for his dependability and easy-going nature. A devoted brother and a loving uncle, he treasured his niece and nephew, and he loved his extended Rush, Graham, and Cullen families. Mark was deeply blessed by the care and companionship of the Jim and Sylvia Smith family and Darlene Snowell.
Mark delighted in playing games, dancing, and enjoying fried shrimp and Lifesavers candy. The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays were especially dear to him, and his joy during those seasons became a highlight for everyone around him.
Mark's legacy is one of kindness, gentleness, and a love that needed no words to be felt. He reminded us that a meaningful life is measured not only by accomplishments, but by the warmth and care we offer one another. His memory will forever remain a blessing to his family and to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A private celebration of life will be held at Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Bruceton Mills, WV, on November 24, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Reading Hospital Foundation in recognition of the exceptional care he received recently and throughout the years. A separate memorial service will be held in Berks County at a later date to be determined.
