Jessie Mae Turney,
91, of Bruceton Mills, WV, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019, in her home.
The daughter of the late Albert and Cora Jeffreys Matthews, she was born February 18, 1928, in Hazelton, WV.
Mae was a member of the Shady Grove Church of the Brethern and retired from housekeeping at WVU Hospital.
She is survived by two daughters and their spouses: Judy and Bob Metheny of Bruceton Mills, WV and Sandra and Greg Bennett of Vienna, VA; four grandchildren and spouses: Kevin and Tracy Metheny of Bruceton Mills, Jason and Michelle Metheny of Clarksburg, WV, Chase and Christina Bennett, and Stacy Bennett; six great-grandchildren: Samantha, Aron, Samara, Torrie, Malisa, and Ryan; and two great-great-grandchildren: Paxton and Chase; a sister-in-law Christine Matthews; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband, James Turney, a son, Carl James Turney, and four brothers: Clarence, Floyd, Foster, and Paul.
Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Tuesday, from  6-8 p.m., and Wednesday, March 13, 2019, from 10 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service with Pastor Nathan Goodin officiating.
Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills, WV
