James Leroy Hensell

James L. Hensell,

85, of Morgantown, WV passed on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Son of Arthur M. Hensell and Eleanor A. Kraus, he was born on May 11 (Mother’s Day), 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA.

James is survived by his daughter Diane Hensell Cale, and son James R. D. Hensell; granddaughter’s Emily Cale (Ragjeen Davidson), Sarah Cale Doughty (Joe), Rebecca Hensell Quiroz (Henry); great-grandchildren Brooklyn Brown, Ace Davidson, and Henry R. Quiroz V.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Eileen Hensell, brothers Arthur, Robert (Eleanore), Donald (Patricia), sister Shirley Smith (Jack). Surviving sister Peggy Bonidie (Jim), Florence Uphold sister in-law; Judy Mathews (Foster) sister in-law and brother in-law and many loving nieces and nephews who considered him their favorite uncle.

James was always interested in taking things apart and putting them back together from the time he was a kid. Always fixing things and helping others. He made a career out of it and worked as a diesel mechanic for Cummins in Fairmont until his retirement.

He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, eating out with his wife, collecting coins, mowing his lawn, and watching history documentaries.

A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed but never forgotten.
