Gerald Allen Valentine, Jr.,

58, of Kingwood, WV, passed away on June 6, 2026, at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, WV. The son of the late Jerry A. Valentine, Sr. and Janet Fike Valentine, he was born October 5, 1967, in Morgantown.

After graduation from Bruceton High School, he worked at various jobs, including the coal mines.

Jerry is survived by his companion, Gladys McNear, of Kingwood, WV; a son, Joshua (Heather) Valentine, of Rowlesburg, WV; a daughter, Jo Ann (Jason) Short, of Clarksburg, WV; a son, Johnny McNear, of Kingwood; and a grandson, Jayden Ball, of South Carolina. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Lou Nicholson and Linda Frankhouser, and a brother, Rick Nicholson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joshua Allen Valentine, Jr., and a brother, John W. Valentine.

Family and friends will be received at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Cremation services will follow.
