Franklin "Frank" Delano Richards, Sr., 80, of Valley Point, WV, was called home on September 4, 2025. Born June 18, 1945, in Jefferson Township, PA, to the late Russell and Margret Richards. Frank was happily married to Patricia "Patty" May Wiles Richards on November 5, 1966. Patty preceded him in death in May 1997. Frank missed Patty dearly over the years, and their family will find peace in knowing they are now reunited. Together, they had three children who survived him. Frank worked for Rockville Mining for many years, dedicating much of his life to hard work and providing for his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, and never missed an episode of Monday Night Raw Wrestling. Gunsmoke was another favorite TV show. Frank always looked forward to spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his loyal furry companion, "Buddy." Frank survived by: A daughter and son-in-law, Tina & Jim Sholders of Spicewood, TX. Two sons, Franklin "Frankie" Richards, Jr. of Valley Point, WV, and Travis Richards & Ashley McCarty of Bruceton Mills, WV. Six grandchildren: Wesley & Ally Sholders of League City, TX, Gracie Sholders & Joey Torres of Spicewood, TX, and Kiley, Presley, Chanse, & Chesney Richards of Bruceton Mills, WV. Two brothers and sisters-in-law: Russel "Buck" & Janet Richards, and Paul & Loretta Richards. My sister-in-law: Pam Richard. My brother-in-law: Terry & Linda Wiles, and many nieces, nephews, and acquaintances. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Patty, his sister and brother-in-law JoAnn & Holmer Adams, his brothers and sisters-in-law Bill & Barb Richards, Jack & Jacqueline Richards, Dave Richard, and LeRoy & Candy Richards. A viewing and memorial service will be held on September 11, 2025, at Mount Moriah Church, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Sonny McNair officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
