Eileen V. Hensell

81, of Morgantown, WV passed on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at home. The daughter of William J. Uphold and Amanda J. Burch, she was born on June 11, 1944, in Pisgah, WV.

Eileen is survived by her husband James L. Hensell (63 years of marriage), daughter Diane Hensell Cale, and son James R. D. Hensell; granddaughter’s Emily Cale (Ragjeen Davidson), Sarah Cale Doughty (Joe), Rebecca Hensell Quiroz (Henry); great-grandchildren Brooklyn Brown, Ace Davidson, and Henry R. Quiroz V.

She was preceded in death by her sister Izetta Jeffries, and brothers Blaine and Larry Uphold. Surviving sister Judy Matthews (Foster), Florence Uphold sister in-law; Peggy sister-in-law and Jim Bonidie brother in-law, and many loving nieces and nephews that she treated like her own.

Eileen was a children’s clothing buyer for O.J. Morrison’s Department Store in the early 80’s and was given the opportunity to travel to New York City (World Trade Center) twice a year to choose the clothing for the department. She was good at it and her boss noticed. Her family was proud of her.

She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, planting flowers, baking and collecting tea pots. She was very loved and will truly be missed. The world will be a different place without her.

Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, is assisting the family with funeral services.
