Edward Ronald Grove, Sr.,
80, died at his home in Bruceton Mills, WV, on Friday, August 15, 2025. Ed was born in 1944 in Frostburg, MD. His parents were George Peter Grove, Jr. and Naomi Aleta Grove, who preceded him in death. Ed was married to his wife Patricia Ann Grove in January 1967. They have two children, Rhonda S. Wright and Edward Ronald Grove Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Paula.
He loved his home in Bruceton Mills where he enjoyed watching the corn grow, cutting his grass, going for walks, hunting, fishing, and trapping. He loved feeding and watching the birds and the wildlife that passed through his back yard. His true joys were his family and friends. He and his wife, Pat, are best friends, and their love and friendship were beyond compare. Their marriage was a true example for their children, grandchildren and friends. Ed never met a stranger and loved being around people and cherished the many friendships he made throughout his life. They had a wonderful golden retriever, Sunny. He loved and took care of their 'grand dog' golden retriever Rosie, as often as needed. Sunny & Rosie were by his side when he passed. His life was filled with love and peace. In his younger years he was an active member of the Lonaconing Lions Club and the Frostburg JC's. He loved the American dream and died happy. Ed served in the United States Army. Ed felt that he was a very blessed man. He was loyal to his family and friends.
Ed started with the Snap-On Tool Company when he was 18 years old. His career spanned 38 years starting out as a Dealer, then into Management, and ending with being a Franchise Owner in the Garrett and Allegany Counties of Maryland. Throughout his time with Snap-On, he won many awards and had many accomplishments. His customers and colleagues were friends, and Ed loved the friendships that he made. They took many vacations and trips through Snap-On.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert L. Lindsay; mother-in-law, Mary Jane Lindsay; brother, Charles "Cork" Grove; three brothers-in-law; and one granddaughter.
Besides his wife, Pat, and his children Rhonda and Ron (Sue), he is survived by his grandchildren: Matthew (Lindsay), Brandon (Kendra), Lindsay (Bryce), Randi, Miki, Jack, and Kyle; and his great grandchildren Haiden, Rilynn, Amelia, and Lucy. Also surviving are his siblings: Wade (Sis), Susie (George), Polly, and Gayle (David); many nieces and nephews; and son-in-law, Mike.
There will be a memorial celebrating Ed's life at 951 Tallentire Road, Bruceton Mills, WV, on October 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
Cremation services and arrangements are being provided by Carl R. Spear Funeral Home of Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV.
