Doris Jean Matthews, 83, currently of Bruceton Mills, WV, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021, in Stonerise Nursing Home in Morgantown, WV. The daughter of the late George and Lulu Manger, she was born December 31, 1937 in Baltimore, MD. Doris was an amazing Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, and Great-Great Grandma. She is survived by her two daughters, Bonita Helmick and Cynthia Matthews of Bruceton Mills; five grandchildren: Shannon and her companion, Buck White, of Bruceton Mills, Renee Hott of FL, Tracie Abernathy and her husband, Jimmy, of NC, and Mickey Cope of Morgantown; sixteen great grandchildren: Astin, Garrett, Patrick, Dakota, Jax, Donovan, Nathaniel, Keelie, Savannah, Anna, Brookelynn, Ambria, Mallorie, Cherril, Ashlee, and Ariel; and seven great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gibson Matthews, of twenty five years, until his death in 1981, and her long time fiancé, Paul Dunko, until his death in 2012; and a great-great grandson, Greyson Allen.
