Doris Jean Feather, 93, of Bruceton Mills (Cuzzart community), WV, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, at home with her family by her side. Jean was the daughter of the late Frank Ernest and Lulu Gertrude Ringer. She was born on July 30, 1932 in Centenary, WV. Jean was a proud employee of The Sterling Faucet plant in Sabraton, WV for 20 years and worked hard on their family farm and in the home as an exceptional cook and gardener. Her flowers were always beautiful and her fried chicken dinners and buckwheat cakes were her specialties. She enjoyed traveling and visited Europe twice in her retirement and was admired by many neighbors and friends for her sharp mind and witty sense of humor. Jean will be forever treasured and remembered by many. In December 2018, Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Darwin Glen Feather, whom she married on March 10, 1950; Surviving are four daughters and their spouses: Judy and Alvin Lipscomb of Grafton, Debbie and Giles Wright of Morgantown, Shirley and Rob Fraley of Bruceton Mills, and Brenda and Luke Seese of Bruceton Mills; grandchildren: Angie Dawkins (Chris) of Bridgeport, Jenny Lambert (Junior) of Grafton, Julie Knight (Chris) of Bridgeport, Bob Fraley of Bridgeport, Brian Fraley of Bruceton Mills, Casey Reed (Sean) of West Union, Carla Dixon of Bruceton Mills, Bethany Scott (Buddy) of Baltimore, MD, and Giles Wright, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Jeanette Noss of Essex, MD; special nephew, Kelvin Feather; and special niece, Carolyn Eberhard; and her companion for the last 8 years, her beloved dog, Kasey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her four brothers Clayton, Bud, Marvin and Gerald Ringer. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice of Morgantown for their services over the past year with special gratitude to staff Tori, Chad and Desiree. As per Jean's wishes, there will be a private visitation for immediate family only. Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills is assisting the family with funeral arrangements and providing burial services at Parnell Cemetery in Cuzzart, WV.
