Donald Davis Groves,

93, of Albright (Lenox community), WV, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at Pine Ridge Nursing Center in Kingwood, WV.
The son of the late Dayton Groves and Martha McNair Groves Northan, he was born February 18, 1926, in Valley Point, WV.
Don was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of the Carpenters Union and the Laborers Union.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Violet Jane Benson Groves; two daughters and their
spouses, Susan Kay and David Vallelonga and Sandra and Edward Rawls; two sons and their
spouses, David and Joann Groves and Neal and Andrea Groves; grandchildren: Thomas Schmidle, Alyscenne and Anthony Vallelonga, Holly Hartsell, Jessie Groves, Jessica Peaslee, Trent and Lyle Bishop, and Tiffany Groves; several step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a great-great grandaughter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Don Groves; an infant
daughter, Geraldine; and siblings: Thurman, Archie, Charles and Freda Groves.
Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Saturday, July 27, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. until the 5:00 p.m. service in the funeral chapel with Rev. Dennis Yingling officiating.
The family would like to thank  the nurses and staff of Pine Ridge Nursing for their care and compassion during Don's stay and illness.
