Dianna Marie Smith McNear,
78, of Albright, WV, passed away at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Wednesday, February 11, 2026, with her family at her side.
The daughter of the late Hubert Roy and Iola Aslee Reckart Smith, she was born January 2, 1948, at Crellin, MD.
Dianna was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcome.
For 57 years, she shared a strong and devoted marriage with her husband, building a life rooted in love, faithfulness, and family. Her family was not just part of her life; it was her greatest joy. As a devoted homemaker, she created a home filled with love and support.
A tireless worker who rarely sat still, Dianna always put others before herself. Caring for her family was simply who she was. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures and loved yard sales, hunting, fishing, camping, swimming and playing cards with family and friends.
Her children were the foundation of her life, and her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She treasured every moment with them, especially family holidays that brought everyone together. She surrounded her family with unwavering love and support.
Dianna is survived by her husband, Harold R. McNear; a son and his wife, Shannon and Lisa McNear, of Bruceton Mills; a daughter, Kimberly McNear, of Albright; a sister, Judy Beckman and spouse, Robert, of Terra Alta, three brothers: Dallas (Smitty) and his spouse, Lavern Smith, Ron and his spouse Kathy Smith, of Crellin, MD, Randy and his spouse, Patty Smith , of Terra Alta; a sister-in-law, Judy Harned of Albright; and five grandchildren: Garrett and his spouse, Ashley Wotring, Cordell McNear, Kolton Wotring, Morgan McNear and Kennix Lynch.
In addition to her parents, Dianna was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Hinebaugh and a brother, Rick Smith.
Family and friends may call in the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Sunday, February 15, 2026, 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Monday, February 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 am service with Pastor Sonny McNear, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Bruceton Mills (Valley Point), WV.
