David Eugene “Sonny” Warnick,
87, of Bruceton Mills, passed from this life on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at home surrounded by family.
He was born in Morgantown on September 26, 1938, the eldest child of the late Helen Joan Fantacci Warnick and Davied Eugene Warnick Sr.
He graduated from Morgantown High School, Class of 1955 and briefly attended West Virginia University until the Engineering Building burned down. He then enlisted in the United States Army, serving as active duty and reserves from 1956 to 1964.
On December 27, 1956, he married his high school sweetheart Linda L. Fleming, who predeceased him in June 1991. He was also predeceased by his second wife, Angela R. Brown.
David is survived by his children: Venus E. Warnick, Michelle M. Norris and husband Keith, Wiliam Alvin Warnick and wife Elizabeth; his grandchildren: Keslie Warnick and Kato Warnik; and special caregiver and friend Linda L. Jones.
He is also survived by his siblings: Victoria Ann Ramey, Mary Francis Billotti and husband Sam, and Linda Lee Warnick, a niece and many nephews.
He was employed by A.T.&T. from 1962 until he retired in 1990. He then worked for Government Services Administration from 1991 until he retired again in 2004.
The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for all of the wonderful care and support they provided David and the family.
Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 10 AM until time of service at 1 PM., Pastor Tim Wotring officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in (Valley Point) Albright, WV.
