Obituary

Dale Edward Rodeheaver, 86, passed away in Florida on Thursday, September 22, 2016, with his loving family by his side. The son of the late Edward James and Marie Parnell Rodeheaver, he was born October 29, 1929, in Mountain Dale, WV. Dale graduated from Bruceton High School in 1946 and proudly served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army. After working with his family's Rodeheaver Lumber Company, he had a 35-year career in Operations with Alleghany Power Co. at the Albright, Harrison and Pleasants Power Stations. He served his community as a member of the building committee for the Sugar Valley United Methodist Church, a member of the Board of Directors of Preston Memorial Hospital, and as a dedicated 32nd Degree Mason. Dale enjoyed his summers at the family cabin on the Tygart Lake, WV, since 1972, and retired to Fort Pierce, FL, in 1992. He also enjoyed western square dancing, and he loved his Yorkshire terrier, Tebow. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Louise Spiker Rodeheaver; a daughter, Joy Robey of Port St. Lucie, FL; three sons and their spouses: Bradley (Susan) Rodeheaver of Pittsburgh, PA, Shaun (Nancy) Rodeheaver of Beaverdam, VA, and Zane (Diana) Rodeheaver of Mira Loma, CA; grandchildren: Megan Robey, Joseph Rodeheaver, Hayley Thiemann and husband, Richard, Kassy Rodeheaver, Courtney Coyle and husband, Billy, Bradley Rodeheaver and fiancée, Tracey, Zachary Rodeheaver, Sandy Rodeheaver and Jackson Rodeheaver; three great grandchildren, Kaden and Adam Thiemann and Cameron Coyle; two sisters, Shirley Friend and Jane Harrison; a sister-in-law, Delores Rodeheaver; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son in-law, Larry Robey, a brother, Don Rodeheaver, and a brother-in-law, Sam Friend. Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, September 29, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service in the funeral chapel, with Rev. Barry M Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.spearfuneralhome.net
