Connie Seese Knight

Connie Knight passed away peacefully in Cumming, Georgia, on October 29, 2026, following complications brought on by a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born Connie Louise Seese in Preston, County, West Virginia, the only daughter of Charles Edgar Seese and Avis Frankhouser Spiker. She grew up in Kingwood, WV. John Charles Seese, her only sibling, preceded her in death. After high school, Connie studied secretarial skills in Morgantown, West Virginia, where she met her future husband Gordon A. Knight. Connie and Gordon were married for over 65 years. Gordon preceded her in death on July 15, 2026 at home in Cumming, GA. Known for her beautiful, warm smile, big heart, and gentle and caring nature, Connie devoted her life to her family. She loved to decorate. Connie filled her home with love, warmth, good food, and cherished family heirlooms and American antiques. A mother of two children, a son born in Delaware and daughter born in Oregon, she established a home frequently in the first years of marriage as her husband relocated to different states at two to four year intervals due to his career. They settled in Fairfax, VA, for thirty-four years before moving to Cumming, GA, in 2008 to be near family. Connie loved music and singing, just two of several artistic inclinations passed down from family before. A lifelong love for playing clarinet began in high school. She played clarinet in Fairfax City Band performances for nearly two decades and continued playing in Cumming, GA. She also played piano and violin. She sang for many years with her Methodist Choirs in Fairfax, VA, and Alpharetta, GA. She enjoyed painting and many of her artworks adorned their home. Connie frequently responded to calls for blood donations, selflessly giving blood and platelets, earning multiple Blood Donor Program awards while living in Virginia. Connie is survived by her two children and their spouses, Grant D. Knight and spouse April McMullen Knight of Courtland, VA and Julie Knight Brown and spouse, Kevin J. Brown of Cumming, GA and two grandchildren, Matthew K. Brown of Atlanta and Daniel G. Brown of Cumming, GA. Connie leaves a lasting legacy of love and selfless kindness for us all to emulate. She lives on in our hearts.
