Carol Ann Hunter, 69, of Bruceton Mills, WV, died Friday, September 8, 2023, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. The daughter of the late Enos and Naomi VanSickle, she was born March 19, 1954, in Uniontown, PA. Carol worked for several years at Henry Clay Villa as a nurse's aide and later at South Fayette Nursing Home she worked in housekeeping. Carol enjoyed being a mom. She said that was the best job she ever had. Her world revolved around her kids, grandbabies, and in laws. She always considered them as one of her own kids. Those who knew Carol closely appreciated her dependability and big heart. She was dedicated to her family. Her dedication included family trips and gatherings. She is survived by two sons: Derek and his wife, Jessica Hunter, of Bruceton Mills, WV; Darrin and his wife, Elizabeth Hunter, of Bruceton Mills, WV; Sabrina Hunter and her companion Brian Frazee, of Friendsville, MD; four grandchildren: Jayden, Brooklyn, Gage, and Grant; a sister, Arlene McCarty of Confluence, PA; a brother Don VanSickle and his wife, Sheri, of Friendsville, MD; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Smitley and two brothers-in-law: Chester "Charlie" Smitley and Sheldon McCarty. A memorial service will be held at the Laurel Run Church of God, Friendsville, Md, Saturday, September 30, 2023. Carl R.
