Obituary

Carol (Mitzy) Lee Dixon, 79, of Albright, WV, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on September 27, 2025. The daughter of the late Clearence and Glenice Mearl Reckart Bishoff, she was born in Valley Point at the old family farm on February 21,1946. In addition to her loving husband of 40 years, Willard (Pill) Dixon, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Kenny Reckart, Delbert Bishoff, David Bishoff, Vadna Walls, Ann Dixon, and Clyde Bishoff. Carol is survived by her children: Ron and Teri Bishoff, Mike Dixon and family, and Jon and Tessa Dixon; her grandchildren: Talinna Dixon and Bud Degele, Zach and Kayla Dixon, and Jessica and Ben Reggi. Also surviving are her great grandchildren: Ariana Dixon, Austin, Wyatt & Angela Dixon, and Molly and Meredith Reggi; her siblings, Deb Bolyard and Betty Cramer; and her nieces and nephews. Carol thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren; watching her birds; reading her books; and watching all of her old time shows and westerns. In her younger years, she enjoyed making wedding cakes for family and friends, square dancing, ceramic painting and painting along with our favorite, Bob Ross. The family wishes to send a huge Thank You to all of the extended family, friends, doctors and Amedisys nurses and staff who have helped along the way. A huge thank you goes to our family friend, Scott Pacifico, for speaking at the funeral service. Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service with Pastor Scott Pacifico officiating. A private burial will be in the Lenox Memorial (Lutheran) Cemetery, Albright (Lenox) WV. Condolences may be sent to the family at spearfuneralhome.net.
