Obituary

Bonnie May Conner Elkins, 81, of Albright (Valley Point), WV, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. The daughter of the late Charles Conner and Betty Shears Conner, she was born February 16, 1943, in Valley Point. A graduate of Bruceton High School, Bonnie worked as a telephone operator and lived in Silver Springs, MD, for several years. She was a kind, loving and compassionate person who lived every day to the fullest. She loved her family and especially having family and friends over for a celebration and getting caught up on the news. Her hobbies included collecting glass shoes and playing cards. Bonnie fought a tough battle but finally won the fight. Now, she is pain free and enjoying her reunion with her mother and father, her husband, her son, and her brother. They are welcoming her with open arms and celebrating that she is finally home. A light has gone out of our lives, but the love you gave will live forever. Bonnie is survived by three sisters: Wilma DeBerry and spouse, Bob, Donna Keenan and spouse, Mike, and Shirley (Susie) Eye; five brothers and their spouses: Eddie and Sonja, Charles (Buddy) and Joann, Larry and Lucy, Rick and Cheryl, and Mark and Debbie; a sister-in-law, Cindy Conner; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Elkins, on July 24, 2022; her son, Brian Elkins, on April 10, 2022; a brother, Gary Conner; and a bother-in-law, Bill Eye. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Karen, Mary Ann and Lola for their love and support for Bonnie. Additional thanks go to the caregivers for both Bonnie and her husband, WV Caring and to the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home. Family and friends may call at the Valley Point Apostolic Church in Albright, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service with Pastors Jay Kelley and Craig Bolyard officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Albright (Valley Point). Condolences may be sent to the family at carlspearfuneralhome.net.
