Obituary:	DARWIN H. RECKART, SR., 92, of Bruceton Mills (Cuzzart Community), WV, died Friday, July 4, 2008, at Heartland of Preston County, in Kingwood, WV. The son of the late J.L. and Ida Livengood Reckart, he was born December 16, 1915, at Cuzzart. Darwin was a postmaster and proprietor of the general store in Cuzzart, where he retired in 1991 after serving for 51 years. He was an active member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, a veteran of U.S. Army Air Corp, World War II, and local VFW Post 2523. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing. He is survived by two sons: Darwin H. Reckart, Jr., and his wife, Doris, of Alexandria, VA, and Dennis C. Reckart, and his wife, Cathy, of Bruceton Mills; a sister, Geneive Friend, of Oakland, MD, and a granddaughter, Lisa Vincent, of Bruceton Mills. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Dennis Reckart, October 2, 1996; two sisters, Ruby Shaffer and Gretna Snead; and a brother, Denton Reckart. Friends may call in the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Saturday, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, July 6, 2008, at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be in the church at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Vicki D. Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills. Personal condolences may be sent on line to the family a www.spearfuneralhome.net.

I want to send my sincere sympathy to you both and your families. I have fond memories of your dad as I did your mother. I hope you both will find comfort in remembering good times with your dad. Remembering is good for the soul...I remember my parents often and I'm sure you will do the same with yours.
