Obituary:	ALICE CARTLEDGE CORNETT, 80, of Bruceton Mills, WV passed away Friday, May 16, 2008 at Henry Clay Villa Nursing Home in Markleysburg, PA. The daughter of West Virginia University professors, the late Dr. Joseph Lincoln and Maria Nash Cartledge, she was born April 7, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA. A 1945 graduate of Morgantown High School, she traveled widely and lived for many years in London, KY, but always called Morgantown home. She was a journalist, editor and author. When living in the Netherlands, she contributed articles to The International Herald Tribune and founded The Hollander, an English language newspaper. She was an Episcopalian by faith, and a lifelong advocate for social justice. She is survived by three children and their spouses: Jack and Christianne Drago of Alexandria, VA; Dana and Joseph Rexroad of Bruceton Mills, WV; and Joseph and Patricia Drago of Chandler, TX; ten stepchildren in the Cornett family; her sister, Letty Lincoln, of Portland, OR; and fond nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lincoln Cartledge, of Schwalbach, Germany; her late husband, Estill Cornett, of London, KY; and her former husband, John E. Drago, of Louisville, KY. Friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Sunday, May 18, 2008, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., the time of the funeral service, with Rev. Vicki D. Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in the East Oak Grove Cemetery, Morgantown, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local Alzheimer\\\\\\\'s Association or the North Preston Senior Center c/o P.O. Box 10, Kingwood, WV 26537. Personal condolences may be sent on line to the family at www.spearfuneralhome.net.
