Obituary:	RITA L. BUXTON, 62, of Bel Air, MD, died Monday, December 10, 2007, at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Rosetta and Robert Rodeheaver, of Oakland. The daughter of the late Alden B. (Jack) and Jessie Mildred Moyers Copeman, she was born November 11, 1945, in Kingwood, WV. She was a member of the Glade Farms United Methodist Church and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church in Bel Air. Rita was also a member of Baltimore Retired Teachers\\\' Association, Maryland Retired Teachers\\\' Association and the National Education Association. A graduate of Bruceton High School in 1963 and West Virginia University in 1967, she completed her graduate work at Loyola College in Baltimore. Rita retired from Baltimore County public schools after thirty years as a mathematics teacher. Following her retirement from teaching, she worked as a financial aid officer at Harford Community College in Bel Air. She was an avid antique collector and an accomplished pianist. Rita is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Rosetta and Robert Rodeheaver; a brother and his spouse, Edwin and Ruth Ann Copeman, of Baltimore, MD; five nieces: Rhonda Ammann, Robin Meek, Roslyn Rodeheaver, Cindee Wheeler and Kim Sheets; a nephew, Randle Rodeheaver; and many close friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ellaree Wheeler. Friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Friday, December 14, 2007, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Donald Matthews officiating. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills, WV. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550 or West Virginia University Foundation, Inc., PO Box 1650, Morgantown, WV 26507-1650, c/o Mathematics Scholarshi, in memory of Rita Buxton. Personal condolences to the family may be sent on line to www.spearfuneralhome.net.

She was a wonderful person and always kept a positive attitude towards life. Her sense of humor and kindness were always a constant in her daily work day. She has been and will be truly missed at HCC.

I had the pleasure of working with Rita at Deep Creek Middle School in Balimore. Not only was she an outstanding teacher that students adored, she was a wonderful friend and colleague. Heaven has another angel overseeing those math students and teachers who need extra support. We live in Oakland now and are so sorry to have not known she was here. Our prayers are with the family! I will always treasure the friendship that I was so lucky to have shared with Rita. She was always there for me. She used to call me the daughter she never had. I used to call her my second mother. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to have her in my life. She inspired me to be the best person that I could be and taught me never to give up on my dreams. I will hold my memories of her close to my heart forever, but I take comfort in the knowledge that she is no longer in pain. She was an angel here on earth and will continue to be one in heaven. I will miss her greatly!

We went through some tough times together and had great fun at other times. One is not always lucky enough to work with someone and become friends. Rita's strength, compassion, and manner positively touched all who knew her. She was truly a great lady who gave of herself selflessly to her students, colleagues, and friends. Her passing leaves a void that will be difficult to fill.
